Chili Soup
1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion, diced (1/4 -1/2 cup)
1 large, tall can tomato juice
1 can Mrs. Grimes regular chili beans with the sauce
1/2 t. salt (more if desired)
A few squirts of catsup, (1/4 cup)
2-4 T. sugar if desired
1 t. chili powder, or to suit your taste.
Cook beef and onion until beef is no longer pink.
(It's best not to brown the beef, just get it cooked)
Add and stir in the salt
Drain off fat if there is an excessive amount
Add the remaining ingredients and stir
Simmer quite awhile stirring occasionally, Do
periodic taste tests to see if you need to adjust salt or chili powder.
We like serving with Fritos, shredded cheese, chopped onion
and sour cream.
